Benjamin M. Brucker, MD, is Director of the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) and Neurourology and Associate Professor of Urology and Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University (NYU) Langone Health in New York, New York. Dr. Brucker also serves as the department’s safety officer and is the program director of the FPMRS fellowship program.
Dr. Brucker received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He did his internship and two residencies in urology at the University of Pennsylvania, then completed a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at NYU. Dr. Brucker has an interest in male and female incontinence and pelvic floor disorders and has authored numerous papers and delivered international lectures on these topics. He also has a research interest in urodynamics, neurourology, and overactive bladder (OAB).
Dr. Brucker is the 2022 recipient of the prestigious Society of Urodynamic Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) McGuire-Zimskind Award, which is given to one outstanding member each year. He was one of the founding members of the Young SUFU Members Committee. Dr. Brucker has been involved with the SUFU Clinical Care Pathway for OAB and with the development of the SUFU antibiotics guidelines for urodynamics. He is also a member of the American Urological Association, International Continence Society, and American Urogynecologic Society.
