Mindy S. Christianson, MD, MBA, is Section Head of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Cleveland Clinic Women’s Health Institute in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Christianson received her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. She then completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and fertility at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Christianson has an active clinical practice in infertility, reproductive endocrinology, and reproductive surgery. Her clinical areas of expertise include in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other fertility treatments, fertility preservation for cancer patients, and surgical treatment of reproductive issues such as uterine fibroids and endometriosis.

Her primary research interest is fertility preservation for females undergoing gonadotoxic treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation prior to cancer treatment. She has been awarded a Research Fellowship Award in Fertility Preservation Options from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Ferring Pharmaceuticals. She has also received international recognition for her research examining the experience of young breast cancer patients regarding fertility preservation.

Dr. Christianson was recently accepted into the CREST Program (Clinical Research/Reproductive Scientist Training) for clinical research. She is also very active in teaching and helped develop a formal curriculum for OB/Gyn residents in menopause medicine. In 2011, she received the New Researcher Award from the North American Menopause Society for her needs assessment of American OB/Gyn residents regarding menopause education.
