Alicia K. Morgans, MD, MPH, is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School as well as a Genitourinary Medical Oncologist and Medical Director of the Survivorship Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Morgans received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then completed a residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center in Boston. She also obtained a master of public health degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee.
As a clinician and investigator, Dr. Morgans has expertise in clinical trials and patient-reported outcome measures, as well as incorporating patient preferences and beliefs into clinical decision-making. Her research has investigated complications of systemic therapy for prostate cancer survivors, including the study of skeletal, cardiovascular, diabetic, and cognitive complications, and her work has been funded by grants from the Prostate Cancer Foundation, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, and the Department of Defense. Dr. Morgan leads multiple therapeutic and quality of life focused clinical trials for prostate cancer patients, and has participated in the advanced and localized prostate cancer treatment guidelines committees of the American Urologic Association, and the cardio-oncology committee of the American Heart Association.
