Richard A. Martinello, MD, is Professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT. He also serves as Medical Director of Infection Prevention at Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale New Haven Health.
Dr. Martinello received his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago in Chicago, Illinois and completed his residency in the combined internal medicine/pediatrics program at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. He then completed fellowships in adult and pediatric infectious diseases and infection prevention at Yale School of Medicine. In addition to infection prevention, Dr. Martinello’s research interests include respiratory viruses, healthcare communication, and emergency management.
